AIRS releases "Spantail", an open-source work log for human + AI teams

We are pleased to announce the release of “Spantail”, an open-source work log service that records and visualizes the work of both people and AI agents.

What is Spantail?

Spantail is built around the concept of “an open-source work log for human + AI teams”. It records the activity of AI — including coding agents — alongside the work done by people, with almost no overhead, and visualizes both on a single unified timeline.

As the use of AI grows, it is not easy to understand exactly how much your agents are running, how much they cost, and what they have accomplished. Spantail provides a foundation for recording and analyzing the way people and AI work, on the same basis.

Spantail is offered in two editions.

Community (free, MIT license): Released as open source and available for self-hosting. It runs on Cloudflare Workers / D1 and can operate within free plan limits.
Enterprise (paid, planned): Adds SSO / SAML, audit logs, cross-organization analytics, DLP, and more.

By design, Spantail follows a “one deployment = one company” model. Your work data is never sent to us, nor used to train third-party AI.
